Healthy Habits
How can you and your HVAC system can thrive in the 21st century?
With our planet getting hotter day by day, it's important to stay healthy now more than ever. The new century has brought light to many new ideas about the best way to stay healthy, but it's important to remember that each and every person is unique and has different requirements to feel just as full of life. But even then, there are some essentials known to be necessary for human survival: plenty of water, food, vitamin D, etc.
However, the same can be said for HVAC systems. These systems may differ in machinery or build, but there are still some baseline things you can do to keep them running smooth sailing.
Air Filter Maintenance
Probably the simplest upkeep task to do at home, changing the air filter in your HVAC system is extremely important for your and your system's health. Breathing in dusty, potentially unsafe air for long periods of time is obviously damaging to your body (especially lungs,) while simultaneously causing your HVAC system to prematurely give up on itself.
If air filters aren't regularly changed, it leads to your system trying to make up for the obstructed air by producing even more air, eventually overheating the machine to the point of failure.
So, the question now is how do I change the air filter? Well, you'll simply have to find the right match for your system depending on the required size, amount of filtration (in terms of width of the filter and size of the holes,) and value. There are many options for you to browse at hardware stores and online.
How will I remember this?
Well, you can set a few alarms, add it to your calendar, whatever it takes for you to remember. Because as important as it is to care for yourself, your HVAC system needs some love too.
